Eduuni Cloud (Microsoft 365 / Azure)

Eduuni Cloud is a shared Microsoft 365 / Azure cloud environment for Eduuni customers. It enables unified processes and collaboration across organisational boundaries with all stakeholders. The services in Eduuni Cloud are based on Microsoft’s public cloud tools and functionalities, such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, Planner, Power Platform, Azure services, GitHub, and more.

The shared digital tools and integrated IT systems in Eduuni Cloud support smooth information flow, consistent practices, and efficient communication between organisations. Integrations with organisationsown IT systems can be implemented centrally and securely within the shared cloud environment, enabling processes that span across organisational boundaries.

Benefits of the shared cloud environment (tenant) include:

  • Centralised access management via the Eduuni Cloud portal
  • Centralised security and data protection management
  • Lifecycle and profile management for guest users
  • Reduced need for tenant switching due to the shared tenant
  • Ability to edit personal guest profile information and profile picture

Eduuni Cloud uses Microsoft Entra ID B2B for authentication, requiring multi-factor authentication (MFA) from all users. MFA can be performed either in the user’s own cloud environment or within Eduuni Cloud. The platform leverages Microsoft’s security solutions such as Conditional Access Policies, Secure Score, and Compliance Policies.

Security compliance is monitored using Microsoft’s Compliance Policies (e.g., ISO 27001) and the Secure Score index. Transparency in security has been improved, allowing customers to monitor Eduuni Cloud’s Secure Score in real time.

Microsoft Teams

All collaboration in M365 is centred around Teams, with other services accessible through Teams apps. Teams can be used for online meetings, chats, file sharing, notes, task management, and more.

Teams and its integrated services use Microsoft 365 Groups for access control.

SharePoint

Each team includes a SharePoint site collection with a document library containing folders for each Teams channel.

SharePoint can also be used in the traditional way via a web browser. It provides a centralised location for file management and collaboration.

Exchange

Each team includes an Exchange group mailbox with its own email address (e.g., team@eduuni.fi), which can be used as a distribution list.

Planner

Teams can utilise Microsoft Planner for clear and visual task management. With Planner, you can:

  • Integrate tasks directly into Teams channels
  • Create and assign tasks to team members
  • Set due dates and track progress
  • Use a Kanban-style board view for project management

Power Platform, Power BI, and Forms

Power Platform

Tools like Power Automate allow users to build custom automations and streamline processes directly in the cloud. These solutions can span across organisations, supporting the development and digitalisation of shared practices.

Power BI (Pro)

Teams can use Power BI for creating, sharing, and analysing reports and visualisations. Power BI offers powerful tools for combining data from various sources and presenting it in a clear, interactive format to support decision-making and collaboration.

Microsoft Forms

Forms enables easy and secure data collection from users. Forms and surveys support feedback gathering and process development as part of the Eduuni Cloud ecosystem.

These tools allow Eduuni customer organisations to flexibly and securely develop and digitalise their own and shared processes.
